Chipped & Worn Edges

Starting Point

This patient was concerned about worn, uneven front teeth and felt her smile was beginning to look older than she was. Some of the teeth had also worn differently over time, creating noticeable asymmetry across the smile.

Approach

The goal was to rebuild the worn edges and create a more balanced smile without making the teeth look too perfect or uniform. Composite bonding was used across the six upper front teeth, carefully working with the patient’s natural tooth shapes to keep the result looking like her own smile.

Fluorosis

Starting Point

This patient was concerned about visible fluorosis affecting the colour and appearance of her front teeth. She also had an existing implant crown on the upper left side, so any changes needed to work around a tooth that could not be altered.

Approach

The fluorosis was treated first, then the front teeth were refined with conservative composite bonding and light polishing to improve shape, length and symmetry. The aim was to create a more balanced smile while blending naturally with the existing implant crown.

Composite bonding, explained

A conservative, additive approach to smile refinement.

Composite bonding uses tooth-coloured resin to refine tooth shape and proportion, rebuild worn edges, close small gaps and make subtle refinements after orthodontic treatment, often with little or no removal of healthy enamel.

The aim is simple: change what needs refining, preserve what does not.
